Tips: Windows XP Memory Error on Shutdown
Don’t panic if you shutdown your computer and get a popup box from windows that says the following “The instruction at “0×00000000″ referenced memory at “0×00000000″. The memory could not be read”.
There is a compatibility issue with certain networking programs, such as Netlimiter, and the Xfire gaming community program. The issue arises upon closing any internet enabled program such as MSN Messenger, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Media Player and many many more.
This issue involves the way the LSP (Layered Service Protocol) communicates with networking devices.
The only fix is to either uninstall one or both of the programs or simply ignore it. Another method would be to attempt to remove the offending LSP files with LSP_FIX however it is strongly reccomended that you create a system restore point before you run the program.
Download LSP_FIX
