How to using your vision phone to connect to a Mac or PC Computer

Dude, Go into the network prefs on the ppp tab and in the advanced tab turn off TCP Header Compression. I had the same problem until I did this. When that’s done dial back in (#777, user: web, pw: web) and you should be money. I clocked a transfer on the Mac at 90 kb/s. Better-than-dial-up speeds totally wireless on an ‘unsupported’ device. To summarize how to make the Samsung A500 work on Jaguar: Get cable from FutureDial. Connect to the Mac. Bring up system prefs, network. There should be a new tab for the Samsung CDMA device. Tell it to connect with PPP. Tell it #777 for the phone number, web for the uname and web for the password. On the PPP tab select advanced and shut-off TCP Header compression. Go over to the modem tab and tell it it is a ‘au cdmaOne C413S by Sony’. Bring-up internet connect and connect. Browse the net. If, like me, you used to broadband speeds it will be slow but it is faster than dial-up though not as consistant. It would make a perfectly fine backup to broadband if you go with an unlimited plan. Also, the modem will connect and disconnect as needed even though your PPP connection still shows active. This is normal and will help save a LOT of battery when there is no traffic. The downsides of this are slower responses when it shuts off and no way to offer any network ’services’. This may effect IMs in a negative way. I fear this now means we are in the age where we will have to deal with people typing emails and IMs while driving. I thought the headsets were bad! The first time I see “Guess where I am right now” in an IM from someone and they explain they are driving I will absolutly go midevil on them
