How to Resetting & Locking Your SANYO PHONES Through SMS
Heres the explanation from the user manual..
Resetting & Locking Your Phone Through SMS
When your phone is lost or stolen, you can erase you important personal information (such as phone book entries, call history, and messages) and lock your phone by sending a special formatted SMS message to your phone.
Send the following format from your computer:
RESET**
Default passcode is 11-digit ESN (electronic Serial Number)
which is written on the package or phone itself.
The locked phone will display the following message:
“If found, please call PCS Customer Solutions 1-888-211-4727.”
To activate this feature, the following PREsetting is required.. (basically, You have to do this before you can even use this feature.)
1. From Standby mode press “Menu/OK” to display main menu
2. Highlight “Settings” and press “Menu/OK”.
3. Highlight “Security” and press “Menu/OK”.
4. Enter lock code (defualt is last four of cell#)
5. Highlight “SecuritySetting” and press “Menu/OK”.
6. Highlight “Found Me” and press “Menu/OK”.
7. Hightlight “Reset/Lock” and press “Menu/OK”.
8. Select “Enable” and press “Menu/OK”.
To Unlock a phone that has been locked through SMS, bring the phone to Sprint Retail Store.
How to Change the passcode:
1. From Standby mode press “Menu/OK” to display main menu
2. Highlight “Settings” and press “Menu/OK”.
3. Highlight “Security” and press “Menu/OK”.
4. Enter lock code (defualt is last four of cell#)
5. Highlight “SecuritySetting” and press “Menu/OK”.
6. Highlight “Found Me” and press “Menu/OK”.
7. Highlight “ChangePasscode” and press “Menu/OK”.
8. Enter new passcode in box under “New Passcode” (Passcode MUST be 11 Digits)
9. Reenter the new passcode in the box under “Reenter Code”.
